Congratulations, everyone! We found out the first week of May that we will receive $1500 from the Swannanoa Valley Medical Center's Ernie Dewick Endowment Grant. This money will be used to help our residents with any medical and/or health care assistance they may need.

Joining Black Mountain's
"The Little Town That Rocks"

SVTHC is participating in our community's fundraising program!

Previously known as "The Front Porch of Western North Carolina”, our Black Mountain Chamber has begun a new marketing campaign, now referring to us as “The Little Town That Rocks.” To kick off the 2013 season, we are going to have rocking chairs painted with our area’s icons, landscapes, local businesses, and community organizations. The rockers will be made available for purchase by various businesses or individuals, and installed in designated areas around Downtown Black Mountain until the end of October. Then, the town will auction these rockers, and funds raised will be donated to the Town Square project.

The 2013 Ministry & Mission Conference

Our Transitional House will be featured at a workshop on prison ministries at the Ministry & Mission Conference for the Diocese of WNC on Saturday, May 4. Nancy Anderson is one of the presenters. Go to www.diocesewnc.org (click on Ministry & Mission in the upper right corner.) People from all traditions are welcome. Dr. Diana Butler Bass is the keynoter. Register before April 8 for only $25.
