A Safe Place to Live and Learn

The Jane Pfaff House

Nestled on a beautiful piece of property, the house has a private and serene setting. It is conveniently located only 5 minutes to Downtown Black Mountain, or 20 minutes to Asheville.

Pfaff House is fully furnished - equipped to house up to six women, as well as a live-in coordinator. The house coordinator has separate quarters so that the women can be "on their own," with supervision or guidance as needed.

The women are encouraged to live here in a "community" mentality, and to pursue their interests and talents with all the resources, encouragement and support that The Pfaff House has to offer.

There is a large, bright and comfortable living room for reading, socializing, or watching a movie. With plenty of room to spread out and relax - alone or as a group - this is a great spot to enjoy some "down time" between work, meetings, and meals.

Pfaff House has a large open dining room and kitchen area - complete with plenty of cabinets, shelving, and even a fireplace! Residents may choose to prepare meals together or separately from provisions stored in the pantry area. Nearby is a full laundry room, complete with sink and storage, as well as a computer work station.

There are four main bedrooms - each are decorated with their own theme, and offer each resident ample personal space, storage, and a "like home" feel to them....

• Looking Glass (single)
• Northern Heights (double)
• Country Chic (double)
• Love Grows (single/double - future residents)

There two large bathrooms for residents to share.

Downstairs is a newly furnished den - large enough for yoga, aerobics, pilates or "movie nights."

There is also another fireplace to be enjoyed, and a small (but sunny) meditation and greenhouse area. There is also a 2nd laundry/multi-use room, where new arrivals find the "clothes closet" area to help start their new life.

The Jane Pfaff House in encircled within a three-tiered yard. There is even a large wooden swing set for visiting children and grandchildren.

Jane Pfaff House is a safe, secure, peaceful, temporary housing residency, where our women can learn to be self-sufficient productive citizens. Women who participate in some sort of transitional housing and/or reentry programs are MUCH MORE LIKELY to stop the cycle of recividism. Our loving and supportive home assists each of our residents to make better choices for their future, while helping them gain their financial independence.
